The new season of Major League Baseball action is just beginning and as Spring Training starts, teams are getting geared up for another terrific year. The Sprint Training season starts about the middle of February, and then the first game of the regular season of MLB is going to be towards the end of March. There is a lot of action to go before we get to the end of the year and find out which two teams will be battling it out in the final seven games of baseball, and ultimately, which of the teams will win the World Series title.
Last year's MLB season started on the 28th of March and the first game that we had was a two series game between the Seattle Mariners and the Oakland Raiders, being played overseas in Japan. They began the season back in the United States on April 4th in Miami, Florida, with the newly minted Miami Marlins host the St Louis Cardinals, the defending champions of the World Series. The All Star game last year was held at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO, home of the Royals, on July 10th, and National League star Kansas City won the event for the third time in a row.
As for the new season of MLB, it is set to begin on the 31st of March, with the San Francisco Giants set to defend their World Series title. The first game of the season is going to be on a Sunday, on March 31st and it will be an evening game featuring the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros. Most of the teams will actually open their season on April 1st however, and the 2013 season will run through September 29th. The Houston Astros are newly part of the American League and they are in the West Division of that league.
